About Me

I'm David Ospina. I am a filmmaker, Cinematographer.

I love being on set. The rush makes my adrenalin pump, and seeing the final product after editing is extremely rewarding. As a Cinematographer, I set the mood through the use of lighting and camera.

.

I believe that the goals we set for ourselves determine a person's ambition and passion. Although everyone can have dreams, only few are willing to risk everything to accomplish them. Dreams are supposed to frighten us, that’s what makes achieving them rewarding.

Vision?

What do you know about my vision?

My vision would turn your world upside down, tear asunder your illusions, and send the sanctuary of your own ignorance crashing down around you.

Now ask yourself, Are you ready to see that

                   Vision?

“When you want to succeed as bad as you wanna breathe than you will be successful.”

What Brings me here?

I was born in a small town in Colombia called Pereira, where there was only one movie theater. At the early age of seven my family decided to take a leap of faith and move to "The land of the free", the United States.

Fast forward a few years to my sophomore year of high school, my Language Arts teachers assigned the class to recreate a chapter from the book we were reading. I picked up the only camera I had, and downloaded a cheap editing software. The film ran for too long, was extremely boring and terribly edited, but I saw potential.

I took TV production for the rest of my high school career and fell in love with the process of shooting and editing. This caused me to search for a university that would submerge me in the world of films, lights, cameras, and movie magic.

I attended Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, and highly enjoyed the experience. After I received my Bachelor's in Film Science, I joined the working force. I worked in dance shows, films, TV series, documentaries, sit-coms and much more. I met really amazing people and had experiences that I wouldn't trade for anything. I now live in New York and excited to see what the future holds.

I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York..New York New York!!!
